About

Gödel, Escher, Bach is the closest thing I have to a map of what I'm interested in: symbolic systems, and what happens when they start to describe themselves. I've spent my life moving between them.

Big ideas. I studied psychology, economics, and philosophy before music, and I never stopped. I worked at a political strategy organization and found it had almost nothing to do with policy. It was about storytelling, and about obfuscating how power operates.

In psychology, I went deep into reductionist, neurobiological models of the mind, and I still flirt with Jungian mysticism. In philosophy, I took the long road and recursed back to Plato. I think newer tools open a real chance to explore the relationship between information and matter.

I like big ideas in general. I try to keep a sense of humor about whether any aperture is wide enough to reflect the infinite.

Music. I transferred to Berklee to study music. It was the first system I learned properly: rules that exist to make room for expression.

Art. New York, as an artist, and on projects with other artists.

Software. I grew up with a 286. Then twenty years building products and the teams that make them, mostly in finance and media. The details are on the CV.

Lately. Building with AI agents, writing about where this is going, and trying to survive the singularity. It all lands on the home page.
